Living Fully in the Light of Eternity
There’s something sacred about remembering that life is fleeting. It’s not meant to make us fearful — but faithful. Ecclesiastes 9 reminds us that every one of us shares the same destiny: life here on earth is temporary. Yet, instead of despairing, Solomon invites us to live more fully because of it.
When we face the reality of death, we also see the beauty of life. Knowing our days are numbered helps us cherish each one as a gift — the laughter over dinner, the warmth of sunlight, the quiet moments with God. These small, ordinary things become holy when we see them through the lens of gratitude.
God doesn’t cause every season we go through, but He is present in each one — even in the painful ones. He invites us to enjoy the good things He’s given us, to smile with joy, to love deeply, and to do everything with excellence.
Solomon’s wisdom sounds simple: “Eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.” (Ecclesiastes 9:7)
In other words — stop waiting for perfect conditions to live. God’s grace is here, right now, in this moment.
Colossians 3 tells us to set our hearts on things above, to live in a way that reflects heaven even while we’re still on earth. And James reminds us that life is a vapor — appearing for a little while and then vanishing. But instead of letting that truth weigh us down, we can let it lift us up.
You have this day, this moment. Don’t rush past it. Look for beauty in it. Let your default posture be joy. Because while you don’t control the seasons, you can trust the One who does — and He’s making every one of them meaningful. 🌿
